A government warning against the continued compulsory recruitment of civilians in areas controlled by the Houthi militia

The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, revealed field information confirming that the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia has carried out large-scale forced recruitment operations in the kidnapped capital Sana’a and the rest of its areas of control.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), he explained that the recruitment campaign carried out by the Houthi militia included citizens, school and university students, employees, workers and tribesmen, and pressure on school directors, sheikhs and residential neighborhoods to carry out the task.

He pointed out that the terrorist Houthi militia’s taking this step reflects its continuing military escalation on the various battle fronts in Marib Governorate, undermining the calls and efforts for calm, the heavy human losses it has incurred in the recent battles, and its indifference to the fate of those deceived by those who drive them in their suicide attacks.

Al-Iryani called on sheikhs, al-Aqal, and mothers and fathers in the areas controlled by the racist Houthi militia to resist these criminal practices and refuse to throw their sons into open crematoriums on the various fronts of Marib, and to not be partners and responsible before God and people for the crimes and violations committed by the militia against Yemenis.

Al-Eryani called on the international community and the permanent members of the Security Council to put pressure on the racist Houthi militia to stop the forced recruitment of civilians, including children, as a flagrant violation of international laws and charters, and to bring those responsible for them, from among the militia leaders, to accountability as “war criminals.”
