Gulf sources said that a Yemeni Gulf ministerial meeting will be held next week to discuss cooperation between the two sides, enhance cooperation and continue the council’s support for Yemen during the coming period.
According to the sources, who preferred not to disclose their identity, the Yemeni Gulf ministerial meeting will be held in Riyadh, next Wednesday, on the sidelines of the 148th session of the Gulf Ministerial Council.
According to the sources who spoke to Asharq Al-Awsat, preparations are underway for the tenth meeting between the two sides. The sources did not give more details about the contents of the upcoming meeting.
The Gulf states contributed about 40 percent of the total pledges made at the donor conference held in March 2021 to finance the response plan for the United Nations efforts in Yemen.
These developments come in parallel with the intensified regional and international efforts to end the Yemeni war. At the same time, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council discussed with the Yemeni Foreign Minister the importance of strengthening Yemen’s membership in the committees of the Gulf system, and developing an integrated plan for reconstruction, economic recovery and advancing the development process.
