The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, confirmed that the Iranian-backed Houthi militia continued to commit war crimes and genocide against civilians in the Abdiya district, south of Ma’rib Governorate.
He explained that the Houthi militia had committed crimes of field execution, liquidation of the wounded, bombing of houses and government buildings, looting of shops and equipment of the only hospital in the district, after storming the district center on its outskirts, and continuing the siege and bombing of 18 villages.
Al-Eryani indicated that the information confirms that the Houthi terrorist militia’s continuous bombing of villages and citizens’ homes has completely destroyed six villages, in light of an “internal” displacement of hundreds of families, women and children from the district center to the besieged villages that are still outside the militia’s control.
He said, “The terrorist Houthi militia has committed these brutal crimes against the residents of Al-Abdiyyah district, under a brutal siege that has continued for nearly a month, and a media blackout after it bombed communications network towers, which led to the interruption of all means of communication with the people of the district.”
Al-Eryani stressed that the acts of revenge, systematic killing, siege and starvation carried out by the Houthi terrorist militia against the residents of Al-Abdiya district, including women, children and the elderly, are war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity, and constitute a disgrace to the international community and humanity as a whole.
