The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, said that the brutal siege imposed by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia on the Directorate of Al-Abdiyyah in Ma’rib Governorate, preventing food and medical supplies from civilians, and the indiscriminate bombing of the villages and homes of citizens with various types of weapons is a cowardly act of revenge, amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Al-Eryani said in a statement to Saba News Agency, that the Al-Abdiya Al-Samidah district, south of Ma’rib governorate, includes (5100) families from the district and the displaced families coming from different governorates of the Republic, who fled the brutality of the Houthi terrorist militia in search of a safe haven, and they suffer tragic conditions as a result of the years of war and the continuous Houthi escalation. which exacerbated the humanitarian situation.
Al-Eryani called on the international community, the United Nations, the UN and US envoys and the humanitarian coordinator in Yemen, David Grisley, to condemn the escalation and siege imposed by the Houthi militia on the Abdiya district.
He called for exerting pressure on the terrorist Houthi militia to stop targeting civilians in the district and open safe corridors to deliver humanitarian aid and reach those in need.
