Yemen’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Saadi, affirmed the Yemeni government’s commitment and full readiness to support and facilitate the efforts and work of the expert team of the Sanctions Committee established under Security Council Resolution No. 2140 for the year 2014.
This came during his meeting, in New York, via video communication, with a coordinator and members of the expert team. During the meeting, the team provided a brief briefing on its final report on the situation in Yemen for the year 2021, which is scheduled to be issued at the end of January.
Al-Saadi expressed the Yemeni government’s appreciation for the team’s work and for providing detailed reports that reveal the truth and aspects of violations committed in violation of the relevant Security Council resolutions, in violation of the standards of the Sanctions Committee, including banning the supply of arms.. Reiterating the Yemeni government’s commitment to facilitate everything that would Clarify the facts to the international community and the Security Council alike.
For her part, the coordinator of the team of experts expressed the team’s gratitude for the cooperation shown by the Yemeni government, its facilitation of field visits, the provision of answers and responses to the inquiries made by the team, and the government’s constant readiness to overcome the difficulties facing the team.
