A few hours before lowering the curtain, the shops in downtown Biarritz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) fill up. Carried by the rumbling of the raging waves this Thursday, October 29, holidaymakers prepare for their departure by rushing for Basque cakes – out of stock throughout the city from 5 pm! -, and the locals rush to the hairdresser, and stock up on books and Nespresso capsules.

From this Friday, in France, some 200,000 businesses had to close with the reconfinement, a decision very badly received by the professionals concerned, supported by the president of Medef Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, who warned about Europe 1: “A trader who has two or three employees and who has no prospects, […] he’s going to put the key under the door. ” For his part, the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire tried to reassure by promising that “All businesses and businesses that will be closed by administrative decision may receive compensation of up to 10,000 euros. This will no longer affect companies up to ten, but up to fifty employees ”.
