European Union: We are concerned about the campaign targeting the Central Bank and call for its independence to be respected





Today, Thursday, the European Union expressed its grave concern about the campaign targeting the Central Bank and its employees.

“The European Union is deeply concerned about the campaign against the Central Bank of Yemen and its staff,” the union said in a brief statement on its Twitter account.

The statement called on all parties to respect the independence of the Central Bank and support its efforts to improve economic and financial stability.

And last Sunday, the Central Bank of Yemen accused “official entities” participating in the authority of launching campaigns accusing the bank’s leadership and some of its officials of conspiring and working to transfer the bank to Sana’a.

Earlier, Britain, the United States, and France issued separate statements to express concern about the escalation of rhetoric against the Central Bank of Yemen and its employees.

The statements called on all parties to respect the independence of the Central Bank of Yemen and efforts to improve economic stability All over Yemen

The bank said in a statement, “This falsehood and unwise incitement and re-promotion of what is being circulated by some suspicious websites that lack accuracy and credibility or rely on misleading information aims to poison the relationship between the bank and those entities and through official statements.”

The bank held those authorities responsible for exposing its officials and affiliates to any harm as a result of these false accusations and irresponsible incitement, according to what was stated in the bank’s statement.
