The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs said, “The terrorist attack with ballistic missiles and drones explosives launched by the Houthi coup militia on residential neighborhoods in Marib and Al-Jawf is a flagrant challenge to all international voices calling for a political solution to the war in Yemen.”
A statement issued by the Ministry stated that this terrorist attack and military escalation by this terrorist group confirms what the Yemeni government has repeatedly warned against that this group does not believe in peace and does not survive except by the voices of guns, and that it continues to use violent and forceful behavior and has targeted innocent civilians and hundreds of thousands of people. The displaced, who fled from its oppression to the city of Ma’rib, which exacerbates the humanitarian disaster.
The statement indicated that while the Yemeni government renews its commitment to the peace path, it calls on the international community and the United Nations to condemn these attacks and hold the perpetrators accountable.
The Foreign Ministry affirmed that the Yemeni government adheres to its legitimate right to protect Yemeni citizens and respond to such attacks, out of its responsibility to maintain the security and safety of Yemeni territories.
Three civilians were killed and three others were wounded in the city of Ma’rib, by a ballistic missile and a drone projectile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia on the densely populated city and camps for the displaced, while three civilians were wounded by a similar Houthi bombing of the city of Taiz. A woman was also wounded by a Houthi mine explosion east of the city.
