The activities of the vaccination campaign against the emerging corona virus disease (Covid-19), implemented by the Ministry of Public Health and Population, will be launched next Tuesday from the temporary capital, Aden, with the support of the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Center.
The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qassem Muhammad Bahaibh, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the ministry has completed all the technical and logistical measures to implement the campaign, with the vaccinations and its literature reaching the governorates … indicating that the 12-day campaign will be implemented by a qualified health staff of up to 1704 health workers, distributed among 426 health teams .. Pointing out that the campaign targets 317,363 health workers, the elderly and people with chronic diseases, who are located in 133 districts in 13 governorates.
The minister stressed the importance of the vaccination campaign, which enjoys the attention and follow-up of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, and the Prime Minister, Dr. Maeen Abdul-Malik, pointing out that the goal of the campaign is to limit the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and its complications, in conjunction with continued care To take precautionary and preventive measures being the most important line for preventing disease.
And he indicated that the vaccine used in the vaccination campaign is safe and effective and provided by dozens of Arab and foreign countries to their citizens, and its effectiveness has been proven without concern about any harmful effects, calling on all health personnel to work for the success of the activities of the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 disease.
The minister urged the local authorities in the governorates, imams and preachers of mosques and various social events to mobilize energies and cooperate with the fixed and mobile immunization teams that carry out the campaign, and for each to play its role in this regard … expressing his wishes for success to the teams assigned to achieve the largest coverage rate among the targeted.
