Musawah Organization for Rights and Freedoms called on the UN Security Council to implement its resolutions related to the protection of Yemeni civilians, especially women and children.
Musawah Organization for Rights and Freedoms said in a statement today, “During the past six years, the UN Security Council issued 10 UN resolutions on the protection of civilians in armed conflicts, all of which stressed the need to commit to protecting civilians, installations and civilian objects and criminalized targeting villages, cities and populated areas in armed conflicts.” It considered them as war crimes against humanity that require prosecution of their perpetrators as war criminals in international courts.
She added The organization said, “The Iranian-backed Houthi militia has never stopped committing its crimes and violations against civilians since the first day of launching its war on Yemenis in full view and hearing of the world, disregarding UN resolutions in light of an incomprehensible and unjustified international and international silence regarding everything that is being exposed to it.
