The shares of the retirement home groups Korian and Orpea tumbled again in concert this Friday, February 4 on the Paris Stock Exchange, after the announcement of an ongoing investigation by the magazine “Cash Investigation” into private nursing homes.

In a tweet, the presenter of the program broadcast on France 2, Elise Lucet, promised “new revelations” following an investigation by his team “for more than a year in private nursing homes”.

The title Orpea, which has fallen by around 60% since its questioning in a book denouncing serious failures in its establishments, ended this Friday in a sharp fall of 12.44%, to 33.71 euros, in a market down 0.77%. Worse still, the Korian share fell 16.81% to 17.57 euros at the close. LNA Health pointed to -9.41%, at 39 euros.

In a letter addressed to the editor-in-chief of “Cash Investigation”, Korian indicated this Friday that its general manager Sophie Boissard “was ready to follow up” at the interview request of the show, “provided it is a fair discussion” and that his words are not “betrayed, mounted and therefore deformed”. The group demanded an interview “live and on set”.

“There has never been a violation of the health protocol on the part of our teams, I refute this serious accusation”, assured Emmanuel Gagnier. The editor also rejected the conditions set by Korian for an interview. “We have already replied to Olivier Véran that there was no live, I do not think Korian is above a minister”, he noted.
