In continuation of the ongoing protest activities, a vigil was organized in front of the Al-Qasr Roundabout – Al-Hawban port, today, Monday, to demand the lifting of the Houthi siege on Taiz, and the opening of the main roads to the movement of citizens.
The statement condemned the great neglect by the United Nations, the international community and human rights organizations to besiege millions of civilians in Taiz and to deal selectively in the humanitarian file in Yemen.
He called on the United Nations and the international community to leave the square of ignoring the siege of millions of citizens and to put serious pressure on the Houthi militias to withdraw from the parts they occupy in Taiz Governorate, so that civilians can travel and move freely and return to their homes from which they were displaced, and for goods to flow smoothly without any obstacles.
The statement called on the permanent members of the UN Security Council to put all pressure on the Houthi militias and Iran behind them to respond to the call for peace and end the war according to a political process based on the three references, and to disarm the Houthi militias that seized them from state institutions following their fateful coup on 9/21/2014 m, handing it over to the state and entering into a comprehensive dialogue that leads to a lasting and just peace.
The statement said, “We value the concessions made by the legitimate authority to alleviate the suffering of citizens in the areas still under the control of the Houthi militia, but we call on it to stop making more concessions or respond to external or international pressures without the Houthi militia meeting that with practical steps that open the siege of Taiz and stop bombing.” populated areas and sniping civilians.
He stressed that he will work to file lawsuits before the international or local courts against the Houthi militias and legally prosecute them for their crimes committed against the Yemeni people and their grave violations that violate all international norms and conventions, appealing to the global conscience and all free peoples to stand with Taiz and save millions of civilians in it from starvation due to the siege Houthi militias or killed because of the continuous bombing of the city.
