Rajasthani Mirchi Vada Recipe: Rajasthani Mirchi Vada is a popular tea time snack, which is specially made from Bhavnagri chillies. It consists of spicy and tangy potato stuffing, which is prepared by dipping it in gram flour batter and then deep frying. Know how to make-
10 to 12 Bhavnagri chilies
4 to 6 potatoes
1 tbsp coriander leaves
1 tbsp ginger and chilli paste
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp chaat masala
salt to taste
2 cups besan
3/4 tsp chili powder
1 tbsp oil
half tsp asafoetida
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 baking soda
salt to taste
First, wash the potatoes and boil it in a pressure cooker with two cups of water.
Let it cool down for some time and after that peel it and mash it in a mixing bowl.
Add coriander, ginger green chili paste, lemon juice, chaat masala and salt to it. Mix all these things well.
Now wash the chili and cut it lengthwise.
Stuff the chillies with potato stuffing.
Make besan batter. Add turmeric, chilli, oil, asafoetida, baking soda and a little salt to it. Make sure that the consistency of the batter is according to the coating.
Now put oil in a pan and heat it.
Put the stuffed chili in it and deep fry it on medium flame.
When it becomes golden brown in color, take it out.
Serve mirchi vada hot with green chutney or ketchup.
