Today, Monday, more than 3,000 tons of crude oil arrived at the oil port of the Aden Refineries Company on board the ship (Pearl Crater), coming from Al-Nashima port in Shabwa governorate, to start the trial operation of the President of the Republic station in Aden (first phase) with a capacity of 264 megawatts. .
This comes within the framework of the efforts made by the President of the Republic, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, and the leaders of the ministries of electricity and oil and the local authority in Aden, to complete the project of the station, in preparation for linking it to the electric power system, to contribute to improving the electricity service in Aden and its surroundings.
Aden Governorate Undersecretary, Muhammad Shazly, said that the station project is a strategic achievement that will contribute to alleviating the suffering of electricity for citizens in Aden and neighboring governorates.
For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Abdul Hakim Fadel, stressed the importance of the station (first phase) of 264 megawatts, which is currently in the trial operation phase in preparation for its entry into service. He pointed out the importance of moving towards starting the second phase of the station to reach 500 megawatts to reduce electricity service interruptions.
In turn, the acting director of the Aden Refinery, Eng. Saeed Mohammed, explained that the oil will be unloaded from the ship to the refinery tanks and then examined before pumping it to the Al-Haswa electrothermal station to supply the President’s station with fuel.
