The growing phenomenon of the disappearance and kidnapping of school students in Ibb governorate

The phenomenon of kidnapping and disappearance of children and school students has grown in the Ibb governorate, central Yemen, which is under the control of the Houthi militia.

Identical sources said that the phenomenon of the kidnapping and disappearance of children in Ibb has expanded significantly since the past few months and weeks, at a time when accusing fingers point to the Houthi militia.

According to the sources, two cases of disappearance of two children were recorded in the city of Ibb and the case of a third girl in the city of Yareem, in the northeastern province of Ibb, and 3 attempts to kidnap children under the age of ten were thwarted during the past two days.

The sources confirmed the disappearance of the child Abd al-Rahman Ahmad Mahyoub, who lost his trail two days ago after leaving his family’s home in the Al-Adayn tour, the governorate center, and did not return to his family until this moment. The child “Shihab Moein Al-Shehab” disappeared after leaving his house near the Qat Market in Al-Dhahar District, capital of Ibb governorate.

In another incident, local sources confirmed the loss and disappearance of the child “Rana Al-Hajjaji,” who was wearing a school uniform for the Khadija Girls’ Complex in Yarim city in light of the growing phenomenon from the city of Ibb, the provincial capital, to secondary cities and countryside amidst overwhelming security chaos.

According to the sources, the people have thwarted 3 attempts to kidnap girls under the age of ten in more than one neighborhood in the districts of Al-Mashna and Al-Dhahha during the past two days. Meanwhile, the kidnapping and rape of a child from the “Akma Al-Saffani” neighborhood in Al-Dhihar district was thwarted, and the perpetrator was arrested, days after the body of a child was found in the same area.

With the increase in the loss and disappearance of children and school students, some of them appear on the Houthi fighting fronts or after their return, lifeless bodies from them, which raises concern among parents about the fate of their children.

The governorate of Ibb, which is under the control of the Houthi militia, is witnessing overwhelming security chaos, with increased brutal and horrific crimes, looting and robbery of citizens’ property and confiscation of public and private rights and freedoms.
