The department said, “The departure of this prominent science from the flags of Yemen is a great event and a great calamity for the loss of a scholar, jurist and preacher who spent most of his life in the field of science, knowledge, moderate advocacy and education. What he carried of knowledge and the efforts he made in the service of religion, the homeland and society, as whole generations were taught by him, who received from him what would reform their religion and their world and what would teach them the ways of good for the individual, the family, the community, and the nation.

She added, “Our late deceased grew up in a family characterized by knowledge and keenness to follow the paths of preachers, so we have drawn from this particular one since his youth, and he studied at the hands of many scholars, along with his regular studies, from which he obtained a BA in Sharia and Law from Sana’a University after obtaining a General Secondary School Literary Department and Teachers Diploma in 1395 AH / 1975 AD, after which he moved to work as a teacher and then as a teacher of Arabic language in the schools of the city of Taiz, before being elected as a member of the House of Representatives in 1993, and continued to teach science students, and he has a whole generation of distinguished students in the governorate and celebrities Its intellectuals who carried the torch of enlightenment from him.

The obituary stated, “Our late deceased was one of the national symbols that contributed to the establishment of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform and the consolidation of its foundations in public life, and he remained representative of the values ​​of the Yemeni reform movement until God passed away.

The Department of Guidance and Guidance offered its sincere condolences and sympathy to the sons of the late and his honorable family and to all the Qahtan family, led by the militant national leader Muhammad Qahtan, a member of the Supreme Council for Reform, who was kidnapped in the detentions of the Houthi militia for more than seven years.

She also offered condolences to the students and loved ones of the deceased and all the sons of our Yemeni people in this affliction, asking God Almighty to bless the late Sheikh with his mercy and forgiveness and to dwell in his spacious gardens and honor his home and reward him with good for what he did, and to inspire us all patience and solace that he is hearing and responding.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Qahtan did not stop at his efforts in advocacy and education. Rather, he was a spark of ardent activity. He served as a member of a number of scientific and charitable societies, and a member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, the Guidance Office, and the Supreme Authority for Teaching the Holy Qur’an in the city of Taiz. He also served as Mufti of Taiz Governorate. Where he was the focus of people’s trust and appreciation from the public and the elite, he was truly a beacon to guide the members of society.

And because he carries an unrelenting determination to spread the values ​​of goodness, Taiz knew him with its pulpits, schools and forums, the able jurist who won the honor of knowledge, the faithful preacher, the role model, the social reformer who occupied himself with the concerns of his society, and the true patriot who was important to his country and his people, so they elected him as their representative and he was brave in his approval The obvious in the face of corruption, impoverishing doses and corrupt policies.

Our late deceased was one of the national symbols that contributed to the establishment of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform and the consolidation of its foundations in public life, and he remained representative of the values ​​of the Yemeni reform movement until his death.
