His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi and his deputies in the Presidential Leadership Council were briefed today, Saturday, on reports on the military and economic situation, in addition to the developments in the ongoing negotiations to end the Houthi militia’s siege on the city of Taiz and other governorates.

The meeting was held in the presence of the Deputy Chairman of the Leadership Council, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Abdullah Al-Alimi, Abdul Rahman Al-Muharrami, Faraj Al-Bahsani, and through the Department of Visual Communication, Representatives Tariq Saleh, Sultan Al-Arada, and Othman Majali.

The Presidential Command Council listened to a report from the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant-General Muhammad al-Maqdashi, on the Houthi militia’s violations of the UN truce on various fronts, which led to the deaths and injuries of the army and the popular resistance, as well as the militia’s continuation of pushing more of its deceived gunmen to the various contact areas. .

In this context, the Leadership Council affirmed the commitment to self-restraint to serve the continuation of the UN truce, and to alleviate the human suffering imposed by the Houthi militia on the Yemeni people.

In another context, the Council listened to a briefing from the Vice Chairman of the Leadership Council, Othman Majali, about the efforts of the government economic team present in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the participation of the leadership of the Central Bank of Yemen, in order to fulfill the necessary requirements to accommodate the financial pledges made by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. and the United Arab Emirates.

The council also listened to a briefing from a member of the Leadership Council, Abdullah Al-Alimi, on the latest developments in the negotiations sponsored by the United Nations in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on the opening of the Taiz crossings, and other cities, where the Houthi militia has been stubborn in fulfilling its obligations under the armistice agreement.

The meeting was attended by Major General Ahmed Al-Aqili, Director of the Office of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Major General Ahmed Al-Yafei, Head of the Military Intelligence Authority, and Assistant Minister of Defense, Major General Saleh Mohammed Hassan.
