The Ministry of Human Rights condemned in the strongest terms the continuation of the terrorist Houthi militia to violate the truce and to commit crimes against civilians of all categories, in particular. children Women and the elderly, and its bombing of populated areas with artillery and missiles, without regard to the lives and lives of citizens.

The ministry said in a statement that the latest of these crimes was the heinous crime committed by the militia yesterday evening, Friday, with an artillery shell targeting the house of the citizen Hashem Muhammad Ali in the Khadran area, the village of Al-Sa’ilah (Al-Maqbaba), Taiz governorate, and caused the death of the child Mahmoud Hashem Muhammad Ali, aged 5, and the injury of both His mother, Suad Ahmed Abdo Ali, 35, and his father, Hashem Muhammad Ali, 40, pointing out that this crime is an extension of the Houthi crimes in Taiz and other Yemeni governorates.

The statement stated that the militias committed another similar crime on the third day of Eid al-Fitr, with a drone that targeted a residential neighborhood near Garden City Park in Taiz, in which many civilians were wounded and property of citizens was destroyed and caused a state of fear and panic among the local population, and on May 9, 2022 AD. The 60-year-old woman, Zafaran Hizam Ahmed, was killed by a Houthi sniper who was stationed in Jabal Al-Ash, west of Taiz, while she was grazing sheep in the Al-Bararah neighborhood, northwest of Taiz.

The statement added that on April 27, the Houthi militia shot civilians in the Markhezha area of ​​Qataba district, west of Al-Dhalea governorate, which resulted in the death of Yahya Ali Al-Zahari and his brother Suleiman Ali Al-Zahari while they were grazing on their farms.

The statement pointed out that the preliminary statistics indicate the number of violations of the armistice since its entry into force until today, amounting to approximately (2782) violations distributed among 656 violations on the fronts of Taiz, 634 violations on the fronts of Al-Dhalea, Lahj and Abyan, 386 violations on the West Coast and Al-Hudaydah fronts, and 555 violations on the fronts of Al-Dhalea, Lahj and Abyan. Sa’ada al-Baqqa’ and 551 breaches on the Ma’rib and al-Jawf fronts.

The ministry stressed that committing crimes against civilians and exploiting them to achieve military gains undermines the humanitarian truce, in addition to being war crimes and crimes against humanity that do not have a statute of limitations. These crimes and to put pressure on these militias to stop targeting civilians and their tendency to peace, and to work to hold them accountable for those crimes.
