The Ministry of Legal Affairs and Human Rights condemned the heinous crime committed by the terrorist Houthi militia on Sunday evening, which targeted a religious center, a mosque for worship, and a student residence in the Juba District, Marib Governorate, and resulted in the death and injury of dozens, including women and children.
The ministry stated in a press statement that the militia bombed with a ballistic missile a mosque, a Quran memorization center, and a dormitory for the center’s students, numbering more than 1,300 students, most of whom live with their families.
She pointed out that this heinous crime committed by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia, deliberately and systematically targeting civilians, using ballistic missiles to inflict the largest number of victims.
The ministry explained that such crimes are a violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law and fall under war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity, and a flagrant violation of international laws and norms and UN Security Council resolutions, including Resolution No. 2216.
I was surprised by the silence and inaction of the international community, the Security Council and the United Nations, regarding taking strict measures against those violations carried out by the terrorist Houthi militia against defenseless civilians, including killing and destroying homes and civilian objects, and the siege and bombardment of populated villages.
