On Monday, the Ministry of Public Health and Population condemned the continued crimes and violations of the Houthi militia against medical personnel in the unedited governorates.
The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Nasser Baoum, demanded a unified international position towards the crimes and harassment of the Houthi coup militia against health organizations and teams in the unedited governorates.
During his participation in the meeting of the 67th session of the Regional Committee of the World Health Organization for the Eastern Mediterranean Region, which was held today via video call headed by the Egyptian Minister of Health, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister Baum touched on the militia’s violations against the health sector and the resulting polio cases in the governorates Saada, Hajjah and others, due to their prevention of vaccination and immunization teams from performing their duties as well as obstructing regional and international assistance to combat Corona.
Baum emphasized that the Yemeni government is making use of all available efforts to support the health sector and seeks, in coordination with donors and regional and international partners, to provide more support to Yemen in the next stage.
Baum stressed the importance of all international efforts to support the Yemeni government in providing health services to citizens in all governorates without exception.
Minister Baum referred to the precautionary measures taken by the government in confronting the virus and Corona and its role in the intensity of the spread at the local level, praising the efforts made by the World Health Organization and the World Health Organization in the Eastern Mediterranean, to contain the Corona virus at the global and regional levels.
The Houthi militia continues its violations of medical staff and organizations working in the health field in the unedited governorates, which has negatively affected the performance of the health sector.
