After a video containing a sink and a dubious pun, Elon Musk returns to express himself on Twitter, more seriously this time. In a text published this Thursday, October 27, the multi-billionaire expresses the reasons for his takeover, the deadline for which will be reached on Friday, October 28.
Reading the text, the boss of Tesla and SpaceX seems to have indeed ratified his agreement with Twitter, although no official announcement from the platform has been made:
The sequel after the ad
“The reason I’m buying Twitter is because it’s important for the future of civilization to have a public place online. where a wide variety of opinions can debate in a healthy way, without resorting to violence”
Elon Musk has clarified his desires for the management of Twitter. Insisting that the bluebird social network cannot become “a hellish place open to all, where anything can be said without consequences”he underlines the need for users to feel free in order to live an experience that is “according to their preferences, in the same way that you can for example watch movies or play video games for all ages”.
“The most respected advertising platform in the world”
The tweet, captioned “Dear Twitter Advertisers,” is also an open letter to current and future business partners. The last part of the message thanks some advertising companies and unfolds the good reasons to associate with the platform:
“Twitter aspires to be the world’s most respected advertising platform that builds your brand and grows your business. To everyone who has collaborated with us, thank you. Let’s build something extraordinary together. »
By appealing to potential business partners, Elon Musk recalls that his purchase of Twitter was not done for free, and that the future of the platform and the billionaire depends on financial investments.
Billionaire, visionary, reactionary: the disturbing faces of Elon Musk
By buying Twitter for 44 billion dollars, the richest man in the world, whose fortune is estimated at 220 billion dollars by “Forbes” magazine, is putting his personal capital at stake, much of which comes from the shares of Tesla and SpaceX. In the text, far from these financial considerations, he displays a will that seems disinterested:
“I didn’t do it because it would be easy. I didn’t do it to make more money. I did it to try to help humanity. »
At the dawn of this historic takeover, thanks to which he wants “trying to help humanity”it seems, however, that Elon Musk is carefully preparing the economic ground for his future acquisition.
