Billionaire Richard Branson took off, heading for space, Sunday, July 11. The Briton has made his childhood dream come true and scores points for space tourism which he wishes to develop with his company.

The one-and-a-half-hour delay did not prevent Richard Branson from taking off for space, Sunday, July 11, from New Mexico, in the United States. The British billionaire embarks aboard the SpaceShipTwo with two pilots and three employees of his company, Virgin Galactic, created for the occasion. At 4:36 p.m. French time, the carrier plane embarks on the incredible challenge of space tourism.

The plane is at an altitude of 15 km, and it is at this moment that the spacecraft detaches itself, takes its autonomy and climbs in altitude, for a few minutes in zero gravity. The images are not of excellent quality, but we can guess the suspended moment. The first space trip will be followed by two others in 2022, for an entry ticket between 200 and 250,000 euros. In the meantime, Richard Branson thanked “everyone who believed in Virgin Galactic” and “the whole team that made this dream come true”. In a few days, Jeff Bezos, also a billionaire entrepreneur, will also be heading to space.
