The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, and the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, held an extensive meeting today, Thursday, to discuss the latest developments in the Yemeni situation and efforts to bring peace and stability to Yemen.
The Emir of the State of Qatar welcomed the President and members of the Presidential Leadership Council, Sultan Al-Aradah, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and Othman Majali, who are currently visiting Doha as part of a foreign presidential tour that included Kuwait, Bahrain and Egypt, and congratulated them on assuming power in Yemen.
The Emir of Qatar praised the distinguished historical relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, stressing Qatar’s keenness to support the existing political consensus within the Presidential Leadership Council, its economic and service reforms, and alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council presented the latest developments in the Yemeni situation, the efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the international community to bring peace and stability to Yemen, amid the continued intransigence of the Houthi militia backed by the Iranian regime.
President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi also spoke about the reforms led by the council in the economic, service, livelihood, and security fields, and the desired Qatari support alongside these reforms.
The Yemeni ambassador to Doha, Rageh Badi, said that the visit of the Chairman of the Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, to Doha is a strong impulse and opens a new page between the two countries.
The Qatar News Agency quoted Badi as saying that this visit is a strong and new impetus in the path of close relations, while it will open a new page of distinguished and historical relations between the two countries, pointing out that the Yemeni people are looking forward from this visit to produce good results, praising the stances of the State of Qatar towards the country.
