Yoga Alliance Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training
The yoga teacher training course for pregnant women offers a combination of basic and advanced yoga classes that prepare you to teach pregnancy. You will also learn about the benefits and dangers of prenatal asanas. These classes are designed for all stages of pregnancy, and the level of yoga experience does not matter. These courses focus on anatomy and physiology as well as the therapeutic benefits of the poses. They also prepare you to lead a class and provide support and encouragement to expectant mothers.
This training course is endorsed by the Yoga Alliance, and it prepares you to teach prenatal and postnatal yoga classes. You will receive a certificate upon completion of the training, and the curriculum includes childbirth education and strict yoga requirements. Once you become a certified prenatal yoga teacher, you will be able to offer the benefits of the practice to new parents. RPYTs must be current members of the organization, and they must complete a minimum of 300 hours of teaching experience.
The program is divided into two parts – an online self-study course and an in-person training course. Taking the online course first will give you the required 200 hours of training, and the in-person training course will provide you with the required 5,000-hour training for a registered prenatal yoga teacher. The online course costs $97, and the in-person training will cost you $495. You can still participate in the in-person training for personal development or continuing education credit. Most training courses can be taken individually, allowing you to choose the time that works best for you.
Yoga Alliance Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Course
After completing the training course, you will be able to start teaching yoga to pregnant women. The program teaches you to use modifications and safe sequencing for pregnant women. It also teaches you how to create safe environments for your students. The curriculum is also full of evidence-based information and is designed to help you provide the best care possible for your students. You will have the opportunity to practice yoga at a variety of locations across the country.
The training course is conducted in person or via Zoom. The first weekend session is held in person and the teacher training manual will be released three days before the course. The training course is accredited by the Yoga Alliance, and the student will receive a certificate of completion. Applicants must have completed a 200-hour course with a certification in hatha yoga alignment. They must be able to explain the correct sequencing of poses and hand-on adjustments.
The course also covers birth education, and teaches comfort measures for expectant mothers. The course is designed to teach the methods of prenatal yoga and postnatal yoga. Once the course is complete, the student will be certified to teach Prenatal Yoga. RPYT designation is awarded to current members of the organisation. Both certifications have specific requirements. Those who are certified through the Yoga Alliance are able to teach other pregnant women.
